2020 Family Portrait

In 2020, at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, mask-wearing became common—and essential. It was then that my son provided a selfie snapshot that became the basis for this painting.

Reaction to this painting has been interesting. I’ve heard that they are looking at a new baby. I’ve also heard that someone on an operating table is dreaming that his family is with him.
